King Faisal Head Coach Nurudeen Amadu has made a clarion call to the club’s top brass to endeavor to beef up the squad for the second round of the season.
Coach Amadu made this known after his side’s latest defeat to Accra Hearts of Oak last Sunday. The result was the club’s 4th consecutive loss in the league; a run that sees them drop to 6th position on the league standings having accumulated 23 points from 15 games.
King Faisal made an electric start to the campaign, recording 3 wins in their first 3 games of the season. On record, they remain the only side to have beaten Asante Kotoko this term while also recording an impressive away win against Aduana Stars at Dormaa.
Their early season form has however seen a nosedive more recently, a trend that worries head coach Amadu.
According to him, a chunk of the first team players are fatigued and his squad is in dire need of a beef up before the second round starts.
In an interview with StarTimes he said “It’s (poor form) because as a young club, We don’t have an all-round team. And those few players who have been playing, fatigue has set in. But I don’t have good substitutes.
“So you just have to manage them and you see what happens. Those that are on the reserve bench are not up to the task. Many of them are young players that we are nurturing so we can use them for next year,” he added.
Coach Nurudeen Amadu believes there can be no excuses to augmenting the squad for the next phase of the league season.
“Definitely, even if we don’t have money we have to do that because these crop of players they cannot play the second round all alone. We need to beef up the team,” he said.
