Umar Abdul Rabi, the former head coach of Tarkwa-based Medeama SC, has accepted a position at Right to Dream Academy.
During Medeama’s league game against Real Tamale United on Wednesday night at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, the 37-year-old strategist resigned from his position.
Abdul Rabi took over for David Duncan, who was hired prior to the start of the 2022–23 season, and led Medeama to a second-place finish in the Ghana Premier League last season. Prior to his resignation, he was having a respectable season this year.
In the upcoming days, he will be awarded a position at Right to Academy Egypt. He had previously spent ten years working at the academy in Ghana.
After the successful concept of the academies in Ghana and Denmark, Right To Dream expanded the academy model to Egypt in 2022 by providing a platform to identify potential and develop high-performing athletes with a focus on education.
