Ahead of the 2020 December national elections in Ghana, Players of Division One club based in the Western Region, Proud United has thrown their weights behind the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to win the upcoming elections.
In a video posted by a top sports journalist, Kyei Baffour, some players of the club were heard singing one of the official songs of the NPP endorsing Nana Akufu Addo to retain his seat.

Proud United placed button three in zone two of the truncated Division One league last season.
