VIDEO: Watch altercation between Victor Osimhen and friend during Instagram Live

A recent Instagram Live session featuring Victor Osimhen took an unexpected turn when an altercation broke out between the footballer and a friend.

The incident, which has since garnered significant attention online, showed a tense exchange before Osimhen’s friend abruptly ended the broadcast.

During the Instagram Live, Osimhen was seen addressing his followers and openly criticising Super Eagles coach Finidi George. He expressed his frustration over Finidi’s comments regarding his unavailability for recent World Cup qualifiers. The striker stated that he had lost respect for the coach.

As Osimhen continued his tirade, a friend who was present tried to intervene. The friend, concerned about the escalating nature of Osimhen’s remarks, attempted to calm him down. Osimhen, visibly annoyed, warned his friend, “Don’t let me nod your face.”

Despite the warning, the friend persisted, feeling that Osimhen was going too hard on the coach. In a bid to prevent further escalation, the friend snatched the phone from Osimhen and ended the session. This action was taken to de-escalate the situation and stop the public lambasting.

Osimhen’s recent off-field actions have kept him in the spotlight, following his public criticism of the Super Eagles coach. The coach raised concerns about the player’s commitment following a reported injury.

Despite the controversies, Osimhen continues to show his passion for his career and his dedication to the Nigerian national team.

Nigeria woes deepened

Nigeria are now lying precariously in fifth place in their group of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers after failing to win a single game in four attempts.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) runner-ups have thrice and lost once in their four games.

Having missed the previous World Cup in 2022 when Qatar hosted, they will be hoping for a better outcome in the remaining fixtures
