WAFA annihilates Ashgold to maintain a rather peculiar home record

 

West African Football Academy whipped Ashanti Gold Sporting Club 6:1 in match week 12 of the Ghana premier league to keep their record of registering big wins over their opponents at their home grounds since 2015.

The Academy boys once again kept their record of annihilating a team every season at their home grounds since 2015 after whipping the miners of Obuasi 6:1. They thrashed Sekondi Hasaacas 4:1 in 2015 and 5:0 in 2016. In 2017 they hammered the giants of Accra Hearts of Oak 5:0. The Believers of Dewu, Dreams FC were not an exception as they were also beaten 5 – 0 at Sogakope in 2018.

Konadu Yiadom broke the deadlock in the 27th minute to put WAFA in the lead, Amos Kofi Nkrumah got an equalizer for Ashgold in the 36th minute.
Four minutes later Andrews Manu took advantage of Ashgold’s defensive blunder to restore WAFA’s lead in the first half.

WAFA recorded their 3rd goal through Ibrahim Abuakri just 4 minutes into the second half, Boakye Yiadom got his brace in the 78th minutes as Daniel Owusu and Haruna Jalilu Mola joined the goalscoring party to make it 6:1 in favour of WAFA.
