WAFA holds King Faisal to a 1-1 draw

Western Africa Football Academy held struggling home side King Faisal to a 1-1 draw at the Baba Yara sports stadium game 9 of the Ghana Premier league.

WAFA who are one the best teams in the league when it comes to away performance, were the better side in the first half but couldn’t register a goal in the first half against the home side.

In the second half, the home side King Faisal made the first substitution of the game in the 48th minutes bringing in Baba Yahaya for Emmanuel Maidawa while the visitors also made a substitution in the 49th minutes bringing in Richard Danso for Agustine Boakye.

The tactical substitution for both teams, paid off earlier for the visitors as they registered the first goal of the game through Ibrahim Aboukari in the 67th minutes before making their second substitution in the 70th minutes bringing in Prosper Ahiabu for Forson Amankwa.

The home side who were eager to equalise to avoid another defeat made their second and third substitution bringing in Mohammed Mustapha for Charley Gyamfi in the 75th minutes and Samuel Moya for Ibrahim Osman in the 87th minutes which paid off in the additional minutes through Mohammed Mustapha’s goal ending the game by 1-1.

Home side King Faisal still maintains their 18th place with 4 points on the league table after 9 games whiles visitors WAFA are 6th with 14 points on the league table after 9 games.
