The Black Starlets are through to the semi-finals of the WAFU B U17 championship after their 3-0 victory over Togo at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
Ghana after suffering a 4:2 defeat to Nigeria in their group opener had to manoeuvre a way to go past Togo to keep their dreams of playing in the next U17 African Youth Championship alive.
Coach Paa Kwesi Fabian side despite dominating the larger part of the first half failed to find the back of the net as all effort were denied by the Togolese shot-stopper Komlan Kiti.
Pius Adua broke the deadlock of the game in the 54th minute as he tapped in beautifully from Andrew Appiah’s cross.
The Black Starlets doubled their lead in the 74th minute through Abdul Razak Salifu and skipper Collins Agyemang sealed the victory with the third from the spot few minutes to end of duration.
The victory means the Black Starlets will join Nigeria and will be playing either Benin, Burkina Faso or Cote d’Ivoire in the Semi-finals.
