WAFU B U20: Ghana begins title defence with a shocking 2-0 defeat to Nigeria

The Black Satellites of Ghana began their WAFU B title defence with a 2:0 defeat to their Nigerian counterparts at the Stade General Seyni Kountche in Niamey.

Ibrahim Muhammad shot the flying eagles of Nigeria ahead in the 5th minute of the game.
Coach Karim Zito’s side came into the game after conceding, with the hope of getting the equalizer before the break but all effforts proved futile.

Substitute Mohammed Ibrahim doubled the lead for Nigeria in the 80th minute to make sure the flying eagles secures the maximum points.

The defending champions will now turn attention to their next game against Burkina Faso in a must win encounter for the Satellites.
The Black Satellites will bow out of the competition should they not win against the Burkinabes, and will miss a chance to play at 2023 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
