Ghana’s Black Starlets coach Laryea Kingston has dismissed any concerns about complacency as his team prepares to face Benin in the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.
“Complacency? Oh no! It’s not in our dictionary,” Kingston declared. “We have our style and that is what we hope to show. We aim to dominate the game in terms of possession and win, and that’s what we will be doing on Tuesday.”
The match is scheduled for May 21 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra, with kick-off set for 16:00 GMT.
Ghana opened their campaign with a convincing 5-1 victory over Ivory Coast last week, and a win against Benin will secure their place in the competition’s semi-finals.
Kingston emphasized the importance of maintaining their focus despite the strong start. He has a full squad of 20 players at his disposal, all of whom have been undergoing recovery training since last Thursday. The Black Starlets are expected to overcome Benin’s challenge and continue their journey towards the WAFU Zone B title.
