We expect to do well at the end of the season

Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has said he expects his team to do well by the end of the 2024/25 season and possibly challenge for the titles at stake.

The Porcupine Warriors did not have a particularly good campaign last season, finishing 12 points behind champions FC Samartex and just five points above the drop zone.

This has led to over 20 players leaving the club and more than 11 new players being signed to fill the gap.

Asante Kotoko has had a strong start to the Ghana Premier League, winning their opening game 1-0 away in Nalerigu against Karela United.

“We should expect this team to do very well by the end of the season, to play well, and win more games,” Ogum said.

“You know, Kotoko is known for winning games. And if you coach or play for Kotoko, you know that it’s a task you need to accomplish.

“You must play well and win games. So, yeah, we shouldn’t boast; instead, we need to work harder, stay determined, stay focused, and get the job done.”

Asante Kotoko will host Young Apostles on Sunday in match week three of the Ghana Premier League in Obuasi.
