Berekum Chelsea Director Nana Oduro Sarfo reveals that football fans should refrain from overly hyping Asante Kotoko, asserting that the club lacks any distinctive qualities.
The Porcupine Warriors will face Chelsea at the Golden City Park in the Matchday four fixtures of the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
Both teams currently have four points, with each having one outstanding game.
In an interview leading up to the match, Oduro Sarfo, who is also an Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), likened Kotoko to the debutant team, Young Apostles.
He expressed his view that there is nothing remarkable about the club and urged fans to temper their enthusiasm.
“What’s so special about Asante Kotoko? They are just like Young Apostles, so stop the hype around them,” he stated in a discussion with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.
“You always give their supporters false hopes,” he added.
The highly anticipated match is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 GMT.
