“You have to work hard to be in the Black stars squad”- Majeed Ashimeru

Ghanaian and Anderletch midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has revealed that it will only take hard work to break into the black stars squad.

According to the former WAFA star, each and every player in the current Black Stars squad deserved it due to the hard works they’ve put it at their various clubs.

“[The World Cup] is in everyone’s plans. Every footballer wants to go. You have to put in more hard work to be there. The guys over there I think all deserve it. Everyone is doing his own thing in his team,” he told Joy Sports in an exclusive interview.

”You have to earn it. You have to work hard to be there”
I believe everyone wants to go to the World Cup but you have to earn it and I will make sure I do what I can to earn it”, he added.

Ashimeru who miraculously missed out on the last two Black Stars call-ups in March says he always respects the decision of the coaches and he will always honour a call-up when it comes.

“I am full Ghanaian and I support the Black Stars. I support their decision because they know the kind of players they want. I am fully Ghanaian and I will never say if I get a call from them I won’t come,” he added.
“I will really appreciate them calling me.”

Majeed Ashimeru scored three (3) and assisted twice(2) for Anderletch in the   2021/22 season in Belgium.
